Xbox One TV DVR Feature Put On-Hold

Xbox One 2TB

Microsoft is no longer releasing the TV DVR feature for the Xbox One later this year. The company wants to focus on more game related features instead.

Microsoft gave the following statement to The Verge:

“After careful consideration, we’ve decided to put development of DVR for Over-the-Air TV on hold to focus our attention on launching new, higher fan-requested gaming experiences across Xbox One and Windows 10. We’re always listening to fan feedback and we look forward to bringing more requested experiences on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Xbox Live this year

When the Xbox One was first announced, TV was advertised to be a big part of the system. Microsoft wanted the console to be an all-in-one entertainment system. As time went by, consumers wanted more gaming features so the focus shifted. It’s unknown if the TV DVR feature will be released at a later date or has been scrapped entirely.
